National MX

Prepsol has remained the official cleaner of the National MX Championship for the 2022 season.

Prepsol sets up a wash bay and offers all entrants a free bike wash or offers support around the wash bay area.

We also give every entrant a free sample of Prepsol Degreaser for them to take home and use themselves.

About Paulo

My first race car, a Mazda Capella 12a Rotary. She was full of “Durban Cancer” (rust) but her engine was good and the mechanics worked well. I spent some time fixing her up and raced in many autocross/gymkhana events.

In 2011 I traded the Mazda for a BMW E30 “gusheshe”, a colloquial name given to these cars. We worked on the “gusheshe” during the course of 2011 to get it “drift ready” I made my drifting debut at the Supadrifit Series in 2012. My BMW now powered by a Nissan SR20DET engine, served me well , I learnt a lot with her and she will always have a sentimental place. At the of the 2012 championship, I managed to finish off 8th and claim the rookie of the year award.

In 2013 I sold my faithful BMW E30 and invested in a more competitive car, a Nissan 200sx (S13). I had learnt from my past builds and decided to go for a more unique engine, a RB30 block and RB26 head combination. I am still the only one in the championship that is running this combination. It was good to have more power under the foot. In 2013, I managed to secure 6th finish in the Supadrift Series.

In 2014, after some upgrades and turning the car into a full spec drift car, I managed a 4th overall position in the Supadrift Series. With the years highlight going to my first win at the penultimate event held in Mahikeng. This year, my aim is to better my previous standings.

Prepsol is delighted to be part of the rally scene as a whole and have sponsored numerous events around South Africa, namely the TracN4 National Rally Championship Final and many regional events.

Our very own Paolo Gouveia has transitioned to rally along with his father Paulo Sr.
Paolo competes in a RWD Nissan Skyline R32.

Teaming up with his girlfriend and co-driver Ashley Eddie and with lots of elbow grease, time and effort Paolo managed to get a rather good car on the start of his first rally. The Nissan now runs off a 2.5L, 6 Cylinder Turbo (RB25) pushing 300hp (224kw)

A few regional races later, Paolo and Ashley were on the starting line at a National Rally where they finished 8th and 10th overall.

We look forward to a long and prosperous career in Rally.
